Vaccination / Immunization

Immunization is the process whereby a person is made immune or resistant to an infectious disease, typically by the administration of a vaccine. Vaccines stimulate the body’s own immune system to protect the person against subsequent infection or disease.

Immunization is a proven tool for controlling and eliminating life-threatening infectious diseases and is estimated to avert between 2 and 3 million deaths each year. It is one of the most cost-effective health investments, with proven strategies that make it accessible to even the most hard-to-reach and vulnerable populations. It has clearly defined target groups; it can be delivered effectively through outreach activities; and vaccination does not require any major lifestyle change.

Nutritional Assessment

A nutrition assessment is an in-depth evaluation of both objective and subjective data related to an individual’s food and nutrient intake, lifestyle, and medical history. Once the data on an individual is collected and organized, the practitioner can assess and evaluate the nutritional status of that person.

Growth & Development Evaluation / Management

Sobust, independent evaluation of development programmes provides information about what works, what does not and why. This learning contributes to improving the development effectiveness of aid and helps hold donors and partner country governme nts accountable for results. As a platform for evaluation learning and co-ordination, the Evaluation Network develops shared nor ms and standards and facilitates our members’ efforts towards joint work by encouraging them to share and co-ordinate their plans for future ev aluations.

Pediatric Critical Care

Pediatrics is a peer-reviewed medical journal published by the American Academy of Pediatrics. In the inaugural January 1948 issue, the journal’s first editor-in-chief, Hugh McCulloch, articulated the journal’s vision: “The content of the journal is… intended to encompass the needs of the whole child in his physiologic, mental, emotional, and social structure. The single word, Pediatrics, has been chosen to indicate this catholic intent.”

Childhood Infections

Both bacteria and viruses can cause ear infections, which commonly occur in babies and small children. Urinary tract infection (UTI) is a bacterial infection of the bladder, urethra, kidneys, or ureters. Respiratory tract infections include sore throat, bronchitis, sinusitis, and pneumonia.

UTI - Urinary Tract Infection

The upper urinary tract is composed of the kidneys and ureters. Infection in the upper urinary tract generally affects the kidneys (pyelonephritis), which can cause fever, chills, nausea, vomiting, and other severe symptoms. The lower urinary tract consists of the bladder and the urethra.

New Born care

Change your baby’s diaper frequently, and as soon as possible after bowel movements. After cleaning the area with mild soap and water or a wipe, apply a diaper rash or “barrier” cream. … If you use cloth diapers, wash them in dye- and fragrance-free detergents.
